Artist Webinar with Freddie Robins
Who’s Scared of the Soft Stuff? Finding power in the soft and the floppy
Online, Wednesday 21 January, 6.30 – 7.30pm
Challenging the boundaries between ‘art’ and ‘craft’, Freddie Robins uses knitting to explore contemporary issues and knock the stuffing out of preconceptions that knitting is a benign and passive craft.
Disruptive and witty, Freddie’s work often incorporates humour and fear, tackling difficult themes in playful and provocative ways. Freddie shares her work in a uniquely human, accessible way, appealing to textile practitioners and those viewing life sideways.
Freddie is Professor of Textiles at Royal College of Art and her work features in collections including the Government Art Collection, Victoria and Albert Museum, Crafts Council, Aberdeen Art Gallery, Scotland and Kode, Bergen, Norway.
Freddie Robbins webinar is programmed by Anatomy of Solidarity, a project from Seeta Patel Dance. To sign up for the webinar please email katy@seetpateldance.org by 14 January with details of any online access requirements you may have.
