Talent Development

Teaching and Talent Development form an integral part of Seeta Patel Dance. Seeta is very passionate about sharing the knowledge she has received from her teachers and mentors, and the experience she has gained over the years.

We at Seeta Patel Dance believe that learning is an ongoing journey, and approach teaching as a dynamic and symbiotic learning process.

Bharatanatyam Technique

Seeta has spent many years observing her teachers and refining her teaching methods to be able to offer a deep understanding of Bharatanatyam technique to a variety students/levels.

She offers both intensive one-on-one classes and group sessions from complete beginners to advanced master classes. These classes are tailored to individual needs. Please contact me for more information.

Workshops

Seeta has a wealth of experience teaching a range of age and abilities dance technique, creative movement and choreography.

Within school and youth group settings, a popular option is often a taster Bharatanatyam workshop and then some creative task-based exercises to allow group work, followed by a sharing of what has been made. The length of the workshops can also vary depending on the needs and desired outcomes of the group.

Full day/residency workshops can also be enjoyable and planned accordingly so that the group can try out a range of activities and work towards a small performance.

Mentoring/Choreographic work with younger dancers

In the past few years Seeta has begun to create choreographic works that compliment her method of teaching Bharatanatyam.

Over the last few years Seeta has created works for Nupur Arts in Leicester, the Dance Dialogues programme (with Kadam and National Youth Dance Company), and been a founder member of the Natya Project, a Birmingham Dance Hub supported programme that offered five talented dancers the chance to work in a full time professional environment as a taster for transitioning into the world of a full-time dance career.

She has also been asked to mentor young dancers as part of the YUVA GATI centre for advanced training programme, The Bonnie Bird Mentoring Scheme and AWA a female leadership charity.
